TITHING IS FOR CHEAPSKATERS

They say "money talks". And when it comes to giving I'd like to add, "and how!"  How we handle our resources: time, talents, and money truly shows us up for what we really are. When people ask me [and they never do, which is why I am writing this book.] if I believe in tithing, I say No! [I am probably sending another Tsunami shock wave to my full gospel brothers] Here's why. In the old testament Jehovah said not to commit adultery. In the new testament Jesus said, Don't even think about it!" The old covenant of law showed us what were the minimum requirements to serve God. The new covenant of love implores us to go farther in our love and worship of God. So if you want to do the minimum required under the law, go ahead and tithe. I don't want to be a minimum Christian for my Lord. I want to be on maximum overdrive for Him! I exist because He lives and loves, and I could not possibly show my gratitude for everything he has done for me by doing the minimum for Him. So I try to give more than ten per cent with all my resources. Tithing: It's the least you could do.
